Barbara Jane Cook

Barbara Jane Cook, 87, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 12, 2022. She was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Marion, S.C., to William Hular Foxworth and Addie Marvin Williams Foxworth. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 55 years, Robert Eugene Cook, Sr. whom she married Jan. 28, 1955, in Temperance Hill, South Carolina and who passed away March 17, 2010; a brother, Robert Foxworth; and a sister, Ima Jean Foxworth Cooper. She is survived by five sons, Gene LeRay "Ray" Cook (Cindy) of White Hall, Rusty Cook of Mountain View, Robert Dale "Tiner" Cook of Marion, S.C., Robert Eugue Cook, Jr. "Bobby" (Cindy) of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Marvin English Cook (Ellen) of Conway; 10 grandchildren, Jamie, Jenny, Carson, Kim, Jeremy, Johnny, Angela, Joseph, Jason, Tabatha, Carleigh Jane, Kyle, Addison, and Paul; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; and her best friends Carolyn Stover and Kathy Gorman. Barbara was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and church. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, dedicated homemaker, and a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. She enjoyed swinging on the front porch with her husband and children, reading the Bible and love stories, and listening to music. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Cubs, played basketball in her childhood and adulthood, and attended thousands of baseball games through her sons' careers. She always had a homemade cake or cookies ready to share and loved going home to visit South Carolina every year. Late in life, she delighted in family gatherings in Mountain View where she would spend time with her children and grandchildren, waving at passing trains. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff. Reverend Ken Thornton will officiate. A private burial will follow at Bellwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71603.
