Lonnie Joe Marshall, 78, of Benton, passed away on Nov. 9, 2022. He was born on Nov. 25, 1943, in Bauxite, Ark., to the late Billy Joe and Reba Chaney Marshall. Lonnie was a truck driver for Featherlight Trucking for over 33 years and attended Mars Hill Baptist Church in Bauxite. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed Chuck Wagon Races and horses, but most of all his family was everything to him. He would do anything for his family. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timmy Marshall; grandson, Ryan "Rambo" Marshall; and a brother, Phillip Tackett. He is survived by the love of his life, Donna Thomason; children, Michael Marshall of Tucson, Arizona, Nancy Giles of Benton, Phillip (Jennifer) Marshall of Benton, David (Monica) Marshall of Benton, Melissa (Larry) Creech of Bauxite, Nicole (Billy) Jacks of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter in law, Debra Malin; brother, Jerry (Beverly) Tackett of Benton; sister, Regina (Glen) Sullivan of Ferndale; 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; his side kick dogs, Katie & Shadow; and donkeys, Mabel and Gizmo. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Ashby Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Mars Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m., with Bro. Charles Wood officiating. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CARTI, Dr. Cara Ballard and Gentiva Hospice for all their care during this difficult time.
