BETTY HUNDLEY JONES died November 20 in Little Rock. She was born to Mary Dean and Thomas Hundley in Hamburg on May 23, 1930. The family moved to the Pine Bluff Arsenal in 1944. Betty was married to Oscar T. Jones, Jr. on August 8, 1948. They had a daughter, Rebecca, and a son, Randall. They lived in Pine Bluff and moved to Little Rock in 1976. Betty graduated co-valedictorian from White Hall High School before attending Henderson State Teachers College in 1947-48 and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1991-92. The family was devoted to the Methodist Church, and Betty was a very involved member. She was active in church choirs, taught Sunday school, and served as president of United Methodist Women at her church. In later years, she was also active at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church. Her life was enriched by these experiences. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters Ruth Chapman and Mary Nichols, her brother Joe Hundley, and her daughter-in-law Jeanne Jones. She is survived by her son, Chaplain Randall Jones of Eastpointe, Mich., her daughter Rebecca and her husband Dr. Alan Kauffman, their children Samuel and his wife Kathryn Tull, Jacob and his daughter Evelyn, and Mary Ruth Otwell and her husband Corbin, all of Little Rock. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Chase Hundley of Little Rock, sister Sarah Hundley Wilf of Conway, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., on Friday, November 25. A reception will follow. Burial of cremains will be at Kyler Cemetery near Batesville at a later date.
