Matthew Lloyd Johnson, 25, of Fayetteville, died in his sleep of unknown causes on Nov. 20 in his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fayetteville, 901 West Cleveland Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a dedicated Venmo account @Mattjmemorial to help his parents with Matthew's final expenses. Matt was born on Nov. 2, 1997, in Fayetteville, the only son of David and Sherry Johnson. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and had worked as a real estate agent in Northwest Arkansas for several years. Matt was a talented musician and songwriter and an adventurous cook. He loved animals, and spent many happy hours outdoors, camping and floating with his friends and family. Matt is survived by his parents, Sherry and David Johnson; his brothers, Eric and Andrew Johnson; his sister, Jennifer Johnson; his niece, Rachel Johnson; his sister-in-law, Lisa Leech; and his fiancé, Char Stover. He is also survived by his grandparents, Eugene Lloyd Jones and Lynn Burgoon; step grandparents, Jaqueta Jones and Bill Burgoon; his Aunt, Rebecca Peasinger; cousins, Chelsea Lynn Banfield and Adriana Maldonado; as well as extended family great aunts and uncles and cousins. Matt leaves behind countless friends who knew him as a kind, generous and openhearted person who had a way of making everyone who met him feel special. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Marjorie Johnson and his uncle Mike Johnson of Bentonville, his uncle Brian E. Jones, his beloved great grandmother Alta Jones.
