Ronald Gene Powell, Sr.

Ronald Gene Powell, Sr., of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on November 26, 2022. He was 92 years old when he left this earth to be with his heavenly father. Ronald was born in Hot Springs, on December 2, 1929 to Quinnie and Guy Powell. He had (5) siblings, two brothers and three sisters. Ronald married Faye Skillern in March of 1948. Two weeks after they were married Ronald who was in the United States Air Force was sent overseas for two years during the Korean War. Ronald and Faye were married for 68 years. Ronald joined Faith United Methodist Church in February of 1945. Prior to his death he was the oldest living member of the church. Ronald was also a member of the Hot Springs Barbershop Fun City Chorus for 35 years. Ronald loved to fish and go camping most of his life. He loved to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks and would travel all over to watch them play when he was younger. Ronald loved music and spent many hours making music CD's for friends and family. Ronald was also a 32nd degree Mason. Ronald was a proud USAF Korean War Veteran. You did not see him without his Veteran hat! Ronald retired from International Paper Company in Pine Bluff after 30 years. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Powell and Quinie Powell of Hot Springs, his wife and love of his life Faye Powell, brothers Bernie Powell, Bob Powell, Sisters Greta Lankford, and Maxine Anderson. He left behind four children, Ronald Powell, Jr, and his wife Terri of Pine Bluff, Craig and Barbara Powell of Pine Bluff, Robin and Chris Bowden of Hot Springs, and Kim Powell of Harrison. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Chris Powell, Chad Powell, Megan Garrison, Ashley Copeland and Chase Bowden. He had five great-grandchildren, Bryson Smith, Aiden Powell, Katelynn Copeland, Ryleigh Copeland, and Cylan Bournes. Visitation will be held at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 29th located at 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, Ark. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 30th at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Officiated by Pastor Clay Ferrell. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
