Faye Sanderson

Faye (nee Herring) Hendrix Sanderson passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the age of 96, in White Hall, Ark.. Born in Mississippi on February 25, 1926, to Ada and Archie Lee Herring, Faye was the oldest of 13 children. She married Dale C Hendrix in 1946 and they made their home in Pine Bluff in 1951 with their two daughters, Linda and Glenda. Dale preceded her in death in 1981. In 1991 she married H.I. (Sandy) Sanderson. They were married for 31 glorious years. Sandy was a doting husband and took care of Faye until the day of her passing. They enjoyed traveling, crafts, spending time with family, and being active members in their church. A woman of strong faith, Faye was a founding member of Shepherd Hill Baptist Church where she sang in choir and taught Sunday school. She spent many years active in the Extension Homemakers Club in Cleveland County and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Highway 15 South Fire Department. She enjoyed crafting and sewing, loved flowers, and was an avid gardener and member of the Garden Club of Pine Bluff. She is predeceased by her first husband, Dale C Hendrix; her daughter Linda Faye Hickerson Call; her parents; three brothers Ellis Herring, Edward "Boe" Herring, James Herring; and two sisters Louise Wall, Mauvaline Langford. Faye is survived by her second husband H.I. "Sandy" Sanderson; her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda Dale Hendrix Thresher and William H. "Bill" Thresher of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Shawn (Todd) Green of Pine Bluff, Dawn Hickerson of Austin, Texas, Shelly Thresher (Jeff) Frank of McKinney, Texas, Brian (Abra) Hickerson of Leavenworth, Kansas, John (Kari) Thresher of McKinney, Texas, and Crystal Hickerson of Austin, Texas; 12 great grandchildren, Mitchell (Becca) Outler, Ethan (Alyssa) Bumpass, Elisabeth (Levi) Cross, John Hickerson, Kaelyn Thresher, Caitlin Bumpass, Samuel Hickerson, Rebekah Hickerson, Logan Frank, Kamryn Thresher, Austin Frank, Haley (Ariel) Baggett; 6 great-great grandchildren; as well as two stepchildren H.I. "Rusty" (Kari) Sanderson III of White Hall and Linda (Jerry) Hicks of Little Kansas, Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren, Clarissa (John) Summerford, Christie (Chad) Hilsheimer, Daniel "Sterling" (Jessica) Laminack; and two step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers Earnest Herring, Eugene Herring, TL Herring; four sisters Pauline West, Patricia Walls, Joyce Ann Coburn, Barbara Sue Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 2 at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors (807 S. Cherry St, Pine Bluff). Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Shepherd Hill Baptist Church (10710 Shepherd Hill Rd, Pine Bluff) with burial to follow at New Home Cemetery in Cleveland County.
