DONALD BARRY PENNINGTON, 75, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, surrounded by family and friends. Born September 4, 1947, to Amos and Lucille Pennington. He developed an early interest in music, the outdoors and sports (especially golf). Much of his younger years were spent in the Ouachita River bottoms fishing, swimming, and spending time with friends. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and began a long career in the retail grocery business. He was currently employed by Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Don loved his fur babies, including his dachshunds Rascal, Oscar, and Mister Bailey, and his chiweenie, Dax. Don is preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Bratton, of Caddo Valley. He is survived by his devoted wife (and true love), Wendi Marnette, son Chris (Stephanie) and grandsons, Worth and Cadel of Hot Springs, brother-in-law, Gary Bratton, and special friends including George Murry, Michael Granger, Duke Webb, Theresa Webre, and Sue and Kenny Wagner. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 6, at Bethel Cemetery in Bearden, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in to CARE for Animals, 5516 Kavanaugh Blvd, LR, Ark., 72207. A celebration of Don's life will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, October 14, at Cambridge Place Clubhouse, 700 Cambridge Place Drive, LR, Ark.
