Ronald King Stephens

Ronald King Stephens, 75, departed this life at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark., on Sunday, October 2nd. Ron (some called him Ronnie) fought a hard battle against cancer, but cancer ultimately won. He was a son, a brother, a father, a husband, a Bubbo, a friend, a chemist, a master-tinkerer, a Mr. Fix-it, a hunter, and a fisherman. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Stuttgart (AR) High School. He graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in Chemistry. He used his degree in the rice business, later in the waste recycling business, and ultimately in his own mobile recycling business. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and gaining the rank of Sergeant as a radio operator in Germany. He was preceded in death by his father, V.K., his mother Lila, his stepmother Callestia, his brothers Doug, Clark and Mark, and his infant daughter Mary Katherine. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Becky Russell Stephens, and his son, Grant, and daughter-in-law Paula, grandchildren Clara and Connor, brothers Gary (wife, Pam) and Don (wife, Shannon), sister, Kate, and sisters-in-law Nancy and Betty. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the American Cancer Society or Mercy Health Foundation of Northwest Arkansas. The family will celebrate Ron's life privately.
