Donald "Lee" Margaron, 96, of Austin, passed away peacefully, Sunday October 2, 2022 at the VA Hospital, Little Rock, Ark. He was born July 8, 1926 in Coal City, Illinois, to the late Oscar Emil and Jean (Stewart) Margaron. Donald was a United States Marine Corp veteran who proudly served his country during World War II. During his time as a U.S. Marine, he was part of the campaigns that stormed the Beaches of Normandy and when they placed the Flag at Iwo Jima during World War II. Lee was in the sales and construction industry most of his working life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Maggie) Margaron; one brother, Frank Margaron, and one sister, Helen (Ken) Kraft. He is survived by a son, Robert Margaron and his wife Lisa of Stockton, Calif.; daughters, Melanie Bowden and her husband Barry of Fayetteville, N.C., Susan Brown of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Lori Shirley and her husband Chester of Austin, Ark.; step-sons, Frank Wall and his wife Amy of North Little Rock, Ark., Bill Wall and his wife Norma of St Johns, Ariz., Gary Wall and his wife Lucy of Citrus Heights, Calif.; stepdaughter, Ellen Sue Edwards and her husband Tom of North Little Rock, Ark.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one sister, Edith Clausen. A graveside service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
