Kevin Charles Churchill passed away on September 25th, 2022, in San Diego, Calif., at the young age of 55. Kevin was born in Walnut Creek, Calif., on May 24th, 1967. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and went on to attend the University of Arkansas and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business, minor in Economics. Kevin sold real estate and was the owner/broker of The Churchill Group, Inc. Kevin met his wife, Kimberley Keyte, at Anthony’s La Jolla. They married five years later, July 9th, 1994, had three children: Emma Grace Churchill (23), Joy Elisabeth Churchill (22), and Joshua Charles Churchill (19.) From 2000 until his passing, Kevin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley. He loved Jesus and prayed every day. In his prime he volunteered as President of the Foundation and Board of Trustees and participated in the weekly food ministries. He looked forward to the annual “Holy Hole in One” golf tournament fundraisers, serving food and tea during the annual Spring Fling and watching his cherubs acolyte and sing in choir. Active in his community, Kevin loved to volunteer on community council committees, he sponsored Allied Garden Little League, Basketball, Crusaders Soccer, and Navajo Softball. Coaching sports was a passion. He coached all three children’s soccer teams for more than a decade. Coached baseball, softball, and basketball. Fond memories included end-of-season award parties, where each teammate is recognized for his/ her contribution, and fellowship with neighborhood families where his children grew up together. He was an active participant/contributor for eight years at Hearst Elementary School’s annual auction, jog-a-thons, Art Core, and field trip parent chaperone. A parent volunteer at Lewis Middle School and financial supporter of Patrick Henry High School Basketball, Engineering club, Circle of Friends, and High School Cheer. People, sports and cooking occupied much of Kevin’s free time…we all knew a visit to the store may involve catching up with people he saw, only to return home hours later. He loved boating, pool parties, music concerts, and pick-up basketball games. One highlight includes golfing in the Buick Invitational. Everyone knew Kevin and he knew them. Kevin is survived by his wife, Kimberley; daughters Emma and Joy and son Joshua; his parents, Kathy and Spence Churchill; and his sister, Kristin Trulock and her husband Greg; Carly (niece) and her husband Jace Davis; Walter and Wilson Trulock (nephews); Max and Julie Keyte (father and mother-in-law); Crystal Keyte (sister-in-law); and Jaed Roy (niece); along with many cousins who were a big part of his family. Kevin’s toughest accomplishment was not climbing Mt. Everest or running the Boston Marathon; but instead checking into a Recovery Center, being a daily member of AA, and remaining sober. That takes a different type of strength. We are very proud of him for taking that journey. We hope anyone dealing with alcohol addiction will seek treatment early or if you have family or friends fighting this battle, please encourage them to get help. Celebration of life service, Pulaski Heights Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. Saturday, October 22nd at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 5107 RAM Alcoholics Anonymous, 5107 Waring Road, San Diego, Calif. 92120 or to the charity of your choice.
