Linda Adams Neal

Linda Adams Neal, MD, age 68, of North Little Rock, passed away on October 13, 2022. Dr. Neal was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and raised in Corning, Ark., by her loving parents, Avon and Helen (Rogers) Adams. Linda graduated from Corning High School in 1972, and then with a Bachelor of Science from University of Central Arkansas. She went on to pursue a doctoral degree graduating medical school in 1988 with a MD and completed her internship in 1989 and residency in 1992 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Dr. Neal practiced at Little Rock Community Mental Health Center, Professional Counseling Associates, and the North Little Rock VA, retiring in March of 2018. She was board certified in Neurology and Psychiatry. She was a member of the Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Psychiatric Society and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She felt her greatest blessing and achievement was her daughter, Laura Cannady who was by her side at her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Avon and Helen Adams. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Cannady and husband Kelly Hequembourg of Boonville, Mo.; her sister, Janet Bellefontaine; and nephew, Eric Bellefontaine, wife Christiana, and great-niece Amalia. She was passionate about animals, and is survived by her loving dog, Louie; and cats, Winston and Dottie May. She also cared for various neighborhood cats who she provided veterinary care, shelter and food. She also has five grand dogs. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and especially growing African violets. She enjoyed traveling and had traveled the world extensively. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed studying Prophecy and the Bible. Visitation will be held on October 22nd at 10 a.m. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with a memorial of her life following at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72210.
