Dorothy Sue Johnson, 77, of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022. She was born in Warren, Ark., on October 23, 1944 to W.B. Johnson and Verna Louise Perry Johnson. Dorothy was a Lifelong devoted Christian. She was a long-time member of the New Life Church of Greater Little Rock, additionally Rosedale Baptist Church, Heritage Baptist Temple and additionally 12th Street Baptist Church. Dorothy's education included many years at Arkansas School for the Blind, World Services for the Blind and many many Bible studies. She was a member of the Arkansas Federation for the Blind and the National Federation for the Blind for many years. She enjoyed and was a member of the Blind Bowlers League team named "Alley Cats" of Central Arkansas at Professor Bowl in Little Rock. Dorothy held many positions during her life: Owner and operator of In Home Daycare, her doors were open 24/7 and all children were always loved; other employment was ASH Arkansas State Hospital Laundry, Heritage Christian School. Additionally, Dorothy worked over 20 years with DHS with the Vending Facility Program for the Blind. She was an Independent Stand Operator at the Pulaski County Courthouse, City Hall, Federal Building, Hendrix Hall and the Pulaski County Department of Health. She was best known for her sweet personality, conversation, and hot coffee. Dorothy was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend. She loved her special companions Yorkie "Snickers" and two Chihuahuas "Tiny Tim" and "Sugar Baby" and all other puppies. Other things she loved were: Christian music, praying and hugging and kissing the ones she loved-showing them and telling them about her love of her Lord. Everyone was a friend to her she had her special friends and she would take in kids of all ages all the time. A couple of her favorites were Becca and "Superman!" Her favorite foods in life were ice cream and coffee; she would ask for it morning, noon, and night. She loved 99.9% of everything in life, but she always Put Her Foot Down when it came to dinner. She always said, "NO BOLOGNA!" She would eat anything, but forget eating if you had bologna. Dorothy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ella Castleberry; parents W.B. and Verna Johnson; brother, Travis L. Johnson; and sister Mary L. Johnson. Additionally, husband, Wm. "Bill" Lee; son, Mark Bradley, and also son Justin Spears (Tiffany); and two infant grandsons Justin Spears Jr. and Jaden Campbell; son-in-law Bennie Hopkins; and many aunts, uncles, and other family members. Dorothy leaves behind her children, Caroline Robertson, Debby Lee-Nash (Robert), James Spears; grandchildren, Jared Campbell, Katherin Monasmith (Jacy), Carrie Zamora (Juan), Shawn Bradley (Hope), Christina Bradley (Will), Blake Robertson (Gabby), Hannah Henderson, Wm. JKC Honor Hopkins, Gracie Nash, Chase Forrester; great-grandchildren Aiden, Natalia, Athena, Collin, Jayden, Hannah, Trey; and many other family members and friends. Dorothy's special lifetime friends Sandy Edwards, Amelia McMillan and Bailey, Terry Drew, Bob and Barb Marko. Also giving thanks to special friends Mr. and Mrs. James Hudson and Daryll Wilson for assistance in Dorothy's last few months of life. In the past 20 years a special thanks to her daughter, Debby Lee-Nash, for the endless care and love she gave supporting her mother during her long-term illnesses, steadfast through the good and bad times. Daily Dorothy would talk about her Jesus with Debby and the future that they have in Heaven. Jesus' arms were open. God was looking down and welcomed Dorothy into the golden gates of Heaven on September 30th, 2022. Until we meet again. A family-hosted celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Arkansas School for the Blind; 2600 West Markham, Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
