Evelyn M. Hanover

Evelyn M. Hanover, age 84, of Sherwood, Ark., went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2022. She was born in Flint, Mich., on February 10, 1938 to Wilford Maglothin and Milded Swayze. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Wilford Maglothin and Mildred Gooch; sister, Edna Mae Willis; sister, Sarah Landry; and partner, Ross Ison. Evelyn loved the Lord. She was a member of The Connection Church in Gravel Ridge, and she loved her church family. She was apart of the Activities Sewing Group at her church and the Women's Mission. She also liked to help with yard maintenance at The Connection. Evelyn loved to garden, crochet, sew for church, and keeping up with her kids. She loved her work friends, her church, and especially her family. Evelyn leaves behind her daughter, Denise Griffin of Helena, Ala.; daughter, Carolyn White (Phil) of Russellville, Ark.; daughter, Lois Chappell of Helena, Ala.; son, Tim Carnahan (Brenda) of Russellville, Ark.; son, Brain Carnahan (Jess) of Clarksville, Tenn.; son, David Carnahan of Jacksonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Trey (Lauren), Michelle, Jeremy (Katie Roe), Jon, Sean (Chelsea), Shelly, Taylor, Jason, Taryn, Ethan, and honorary grandchild Haley; great-grandchildren, Paige, Parker, Logan, Jack, Norah, Adam, Asher, Mattie, McKenzie, and honorary great-grandchild Boston; siblings, M.L. "Sonny" Maglothin, Neomi "Homer" Bailey (Jim), and Edmond Gooch (Tina); and special friends, Eddie Ison, Christy Dillon, and Bill and Missy Kingsley. A family-hosted celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at The Connections Church in Sherwood, Ark., with Pastor Tim Reed officiating.
