Judith Anne Oliver Henderson-Cleland passed away on Sunday October 16, 2022, at the age of 84. She was born in Searcy, Ark., to Kenneth and Ruby Hutchinson Oliver. Judy had two passions, influencing the lives of her many students, and traveling the world. In 1963, she graduated from Henderson State Teachers College, in Arkadelphia, Ark., with a bachelor's degree in education. In 1978, she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Education from the University of San Francisco. In the 1990s, she continued her love for learning with studies at the University of Oxford in England. Teaching in the primary grades was Judy's first passion and she spent 39 years perfecting her skills. She was a very dedicated educator and was highly respected by her peers. More importantly, parents wanted their children to be in Judy's class and the students loved her. During her career, she taught in Benton, Ark., Gilroy, Calif., and Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands. Kwajalein was a very special place to Judy. She spent many years living there with her family as expats in the 1970s and 1980s. She loved the island and its people and returned to teaching there in the 1990s. She met her husband, Bill, on the island in 1992. He shared her passion for traveling and they spent 30 years exploring the world together. Judy and Bill retired and moved to Little Rock, Ark., in 2003. They were active members of the Travelers' Century Club, a worldwide organization for travelers who have visited 100 or more countries. Always the overachiever, Judy visited a total of 209 countries. She loved learning about different cultures, meeting new people and documenting everything with photos. She created more than 80 photo albums of their trips together. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kevin Pierce Adair; and her daughter, Kimberly Odessa Adair Ordaz. She is survived by her husband, Bill Henderson-Cleland; son, Kenneth Orval Adair; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Calvin Jones; son-in-law, Christopher Ordaz; granddaughters Kaylyn and Claire Ordaz; nieces and nephew Jill (Greg) Joslin, Laurie (Christi) Jones, and Justin Jones; and great-niece and -nephews Paris Joslin, Eliot Jones and Addison Jones. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. To sign the online guest book, please visit, www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal
