Dana Gail Laney, born May 26, 1940, to Floyd and Clara Thomas at Washburn, Mo., died Oct. 21, 2022, at Fayetteville, Ark. She graduated from Greenland, Ark., High School where she played on the senior high basketball team as a 9th grader. She married William (Bill) Laney on June 27, 1958. They were married for 64 years. They had three children, William II, Joe Floyd and Laura Ann. Together, they had 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly. Bill always said she was his rock. She said she wanted to be remembered as a farmer, also. During the school year, while Bill was coaching and teaching, she took care of 30,000 chickens and when he quit teaching, she stood side by side with him milking cows for 18 years and raised over 700 baby calves. After Bill retired, they traveled the West in their RV and fished Beaver Lake for over 20 years. You could not ask for a more loving person. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m., at the Baptist Ford Church in Greenland, Ark., with Pastor Ervin Hutchins officiating. Burial will be at Baptist Ford Cemetery with her eight grandsons serving as pallbearers. You may sign the online guestbook at www.bernafuneralhomes.com.
