Hannah Jean Dodson, 42, died on October 20, 2022. She was born in Fayetteville, Ark., on September 27, 1980. She was a 1998 graduate of Fayetteville High School. She studied at Centenary College, Shreveport, La., and Northwest Arkansas Community College. Hannah had a bold and adventurous spirit and, from an early age was taught to appreciate and enjoy the outdoors. She had a zest for life, loved meeting new people, as well as spending time with her old friends and her beloved dog Sampson. She regaled her family and friends with her quick wit, colorful stories and unique, infectious laugh. Hannah was stricken with Crohn's Disease at a young age and struggled with the illness throughout her life. Unfortunately, Hannah developed a dependence to prescription opiates leading to a lifelong struggle with drug addiction. Though she completed numerous drug treatment programs, Hannah was unable to free herself from her addictions. Her family loved her unconditionally and celebrated who she was in spite of her difficulties. Hannah is survived by her parents, Jean and David "Dode" Button, and Allen and Denise Dodson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dwight and Nancy Dodson, and William Evans "Blackie" and Mary Jane Howell. She loved her Howell, Dodson, and Button cousins dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 224 N. East St., Fayetteville, Ark., on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 3 p.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
