Brooks Wayne Felts, 66, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 1, 2022. At the moment of death, he was surrounded by his family who loved him fiercely. He was a member of the Walter's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Brooks was the fourth of six children born to Roland Brooks "Babe" Felts and Lou Ellen Holmes Felts, who preceded him in death.
Brooks is survived by his wife of 46 years, Danea Highfill Felts; son, Clint (Rachel); daughter, Shana; Godchild, Stormy Travis; and Grandchildren, Brooke and Brennan Felts, and Hailey, Dean, and Aisling McReynolds; brother, Bruce Felts; sisters, Helen (Dennis) Calva, Nancy (Brent) Dunlap, Linda (Bob) Taylor, and Lori (Stewart) Nofziger; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great number of friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 517 East 3rd Street, Carlisle. Funeral will be at the same location at 2 p.m. Following the service, Brooks will make his final trip down Walter's Chapel Road to the Walter's Chapel Cemetery which adjoins the family farm.
