Cynthia Cole Fisher

CYNTHIA COLE FISHER of Little Rock, Ark., departed this life on September 5, 2022. She was born in Ft. Smith, Ark., to Gerald and Melba Fisher on September 27, 1954 and was the oldest of four siblings. Cynthia grew up in Hot Springs, Ark., and graduated from Hot Springs High School, Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas. She worked as an IT Project Manager for several organizations, eventually retiring from the State of Arkansas. A true Arkansan at heart, she was passionate about boating and camping on Lake Ouachita, watching Razorback sporting events, hiking Petit Jean mountain, knowing where and when to buy the best local produce, shopping at Barbara Jeans, and drinking Mountain Valley Water. Singing in church and school choirs held a special place in her heart, including her beloved Hendrix Choir with their annual reunions, as well as the Trinity Cathedral and St. Mark's Episcopal churches, where a highlight was singing at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. Family meant the world to her and, as the oldest sister and eventual matriarch, she kept them tightly organized, gathering for special occasions and carrying on traditions. She was the consummate big sister to Chris Fisher, Sarah Fisher Gardial (Jeffrey), Greg Fisher (Kim) and Melissa Harwood-Rom (Curt). Most importantly, she was the ultimate aunt to Meredith Gardial, Cole Fisher, Julia Fisher Searcy (Houston), Taylor Fisher Chowansky (Joe), Erica Ann Fisher, Madison Nicole Fisher, and Zoe and Clio Rom. She is preceded in death by her parents and special co-parents, Gene and Ila Harwood. Finally, canine companions were a joy in her life. Special thanks to all the members of "Team Cynthia" who supported her in recent months, but especially to Benson, Christine and Mike. A celebration of life will be held on a future date, and memorials may be sent to St. Mark's Episcopal Church music program or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
