Jacqueline Marie Lofton

Jacqueline Marie Lofton, 52, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022. She was born June 3, 1970, in North Little Rock to the late Rev. Jackson W. Lofton and Eddyce Marie Henderson Lofton. Jackie was the fourth born and only daughter. Her education began in North Little Rock School District. The family moved to Conway, Arkansas in 1981.She began school there in the sixth grade. Jackie was an honor roll student, band member, she was on the basketball and track teams, and cheerleading squad and she was elected Captain. She held that position until her eleventh grade year. Upon moving to North Little Rock, Ark., she enrolled in Ole Main High School and joined her cousin Sonja on the cheerleading squad her senioe year. Jackie was on the homecoming court and graduated May 1988. She continued her education at Dillard University, New Orleans, Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Communications with a minor in Print Journalism. Immediately following graduation, Jackie began her adult life in Carrollton, Texas (North Dallas). She was employed by EDS in Plano, Texas for six years and worked for John Deere Company from 1992 to 2009. Jackie joined the Potters House, Dallas, Texas - Pastor T.D. Jakes. She served on the New Member Committee. Jackie's hobbies were writing and watching old black and white movies from the 1920's and 1930's, and traveling. She has written a book of poems. She and her mother took vacations every two years from 1994-2010. To name a few: The Chicago Mile, Museums, and Tours, Colorado; she loved mountains, San Francisco, Tahoe and San Diego, California. Jackie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age nine and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Adolph and Theodore Lofton, Fred and Mary Henderson, her father Rev. Jackson W. Lofton, and her brother, Dwight A. Lofton. Jackie leaves loving memories to: mother, Eddyce M. Lofton, Sherwood, Ark.; brothers, Jeffrey C. Lofton, Richmond Texas; Michael J. Lofton, North Little Rock, Ark.; sister-in-law, Sheila Lofton, Richmond, Texas; Gwinda R. Wright Lofton, Forrest City, Ark.; nieces, Christina M. Lofton, Mayflower, Ark.; Crenisha M. Wright, Benton, Ark.; great-niece, Viana M. Wright, Memphis, Tenn.; nephews, Jaylen Lofton, Maumelle, Ark.; Avian M. Wright, Memphis, Tenn.; aunts uncles,, Jewell Bowe (Alphonzo), Flint,Mich.; Dorothy Jones (Robert), Sherwood, Ark.; Faye Long (George), North Little Rock, Ark.; Patricia Henderson, North Little Rock, Ark.; Fred Henderson (Juanita), North Little Rock, Ark.; Charles Henderson (Jann), Frisco, Texas; Patrick Henderson, Maumelle, Ark.; Jackie's kind and compassionate spirit will truly be missed by her immediate family, close friends, and extended family. One of Jackie's favorite charities was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital if you would like to donate to this charity in honor of Jackie it would greatly appreciated. A private Funeral Service has been planned and professional services have been entrusted to Gunn Funeral Home of Little Rock and a Celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
