Jimmy Ray Smith

Jimmy Ray Smith, age 70, of Warren, Ark., passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Ark. He was born on May 22, 1952, in Warren, Ark., to the late William (Billy) Lee and Frances Smith. He graduated from Warren High School and attended UAM. Jimmy was an active member of Chester Street Church of Christ in Monticello, Ark. He served in the National Guard for 16 years, worked 29 years with the Arkansas State Police as Chief Dispatcher and was a life long carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Anne Smith of Warren, Ark., whom he married on October 25, 1974. Children, Jeremy (Deni) Smith of Sheridan, Ark., and Marisa (Chad) Gardner of of Warren, Ark. Grandchildren, Dillon (Haliee) Smith, Lexi Smith, Cole Smith, Shelby Gardner, Dayton Gardner all of Warren, Ark., and Lance (Abby) Leonard and Vince (Kate) Leonard of Troy, Mo., and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Carolyn (John) Ashcraft of Pansy, Ark.; brothers, Billy (Karen) Smith of Warren, Ark., Jerry (Joyce) Smith of Monticello, Ark., and Keith (Beverly) Smith of Warren, Ark. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Crossroads Cemetery.
