Carole Brake Launius

Carole Brake Launius, 76, of Pine Bluff, enjoyed camping, traveling, candles and flowers. She passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Launius was born November 22, 1945, in Pine Bluff, daughter of William Ira Brake and Lena Whitaker Brake. She was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. Mrs. Launius was a member of South Pinewood Baptist Church before their closure. She was an active member of Pine Bluff Extension Homemakers Club until recent years and enjoyed needlepoint and crafts. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Donovan Witham; and sister, Linda Blackwell. Survivors include her loving husband, Arville Launius, whom she married February 22, 1966, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff; son, Richard Launius (Nikki); two brothers, Bill Brake (Kim) and David Brake (Karen); sister, Bonnie Plikaytis (Brian); five grandchildren, Virginia Wagley, Jamie Hogue, Amber Wiggins, James Thornton and Max Thornton; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Chaplain John Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
