Wanda Kaye Thomas

Scott, AR, 1947 - 2022

Wanda Kaye Thomas, 75, of Scott, Ark., passed away September 18, 2022. She was born June 23, 1947, in Scott, Ark., to the late Foster and Leatha Dycus.
She joined her high school sweetheart and husband of many years, Jimmy Don Thomas in Heaven.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Allene Walls; and two brothers, Buryl Dycus and Doyle Dycus.
Kaye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Randy Hughes of Scott, and her daughter, Gina, of Fort Worth, Texas. She was a proud Mamoo to her grandchildren, Trey Grantham, Jake Grantham, and Tori Hughes; siblings, Theodore Dycus, Laverne Green, Polly Wicklife, Sybil Ussery, Hershel Dycus (Madonna), Bobby Dycus (Mary Ann), and Pam Moore (Richard).
While raising her family, she worked as a teacher's aide for the Pulaski County School District for 18 years. Rather than becoming an empty nester, she then opened her heart and home and fostered children with special needs for many years.
The family is very appreciative of the assistance provided by Karen and ZK over the last few years. They also thank the nurses at Baptist hospital for the care and support provided to both Kim and her mother the last few days of Kaye's life.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Keo Cemetery. Please visit www.smithfamilycares.com for the online guestbook.
