ROBERT EDWARD TRIPPE, age 92, of Jacksonville, passed away September 21, 2022. Bob was born on February 26, 1930 to William and Edith Jackson Trippe in Trippe Junction, near McGehee. He joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and retired as Tech Sergeant. Afterwards he worked as an engineer for AT&T. Bob was a life-long learner, earning his B.S. Degree and three Masters' Degrees. After retiring from AT&T he spent his time landscaping his backyard and tending his garden. He would often be seen on his knees weeding flowers with his favorite four-legged friend Kit Kat supervising. He was predeceased by his first wife Johnnie Will Trippe; his parents William and Edith Jackson Trippe; two brothers Thomas and Billy; and his very special Aunt Maude Bowden.
Bob is survived by his wife Nancy Perry Trippe; daughter and son-in-law Tammie and Leonard Dillon; her two sons, Logan and Liam; son Fletcher Trippe. Funeral services will be held at First Methodist Church in Jacksonville at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 with visitation preceding the service.
