Margaret Ann Merritt

Margaret "Ann" Merritt, aged 76 of Searcy, died Monday January 23, 2023, in Eastport, Maine with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born June 15, 1946, in Higginson to Taylor and Inez Merritt. She is survived by her daughter, Keri Ann Matthews and son-in-law Aaron Matthews; one sister, Nancy Davis; three grandchildren, Taylor Treen and husband Conall Treen, Tristan Matthews, Torin Matthews; brother-in-law, Kenneth Harris; sister-in-law, Carolyn Merritt and 10 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Inez Merritt; brother, Douglas Merritt; brother, William Merritt; sister, Betty Harris; brother-in-law, Bob Davis. Ann was a lover of animals, especially cats, and would gladly take care of any stray that would show up on her doorstep and rescue animals that were abandoned and homeless. In remembrance of Ann, her family has requested donations be made to your local animal shelter/humane society.
