Dr. Joe Horton

Dr. Joe Horton of Fayetteville, Ark., joined his savior Sunday, May 21, 2023. He was born March 9, 1950, in Harrison, Ark., to the late Jimmy Horton and Charlene Passmore Horton. Joe was a retired optometric physician, and owner/operator of Family Eyecare in Fayetteville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Fellowship Bible Church since 1993. Joe was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. He served the University athletic department for over 30 years by providing eye care to the athletes, coaches, and their families. Joe exemplified a life of service. Whether it be the patients he met over the 44 years he practiced, the Church, his friends, his children and grandchild or his wife, he served the Lord by serving others. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy Horton; his son, Douglas Horton and wife Jennifer; his daughter, Allison Horton Adams and husband Anthony; his granddaughter, Brianna Adams; his sister, Charlotte Horton; his sister- in-law, Dr. Anne Cook and husband Jason, and their children. Funeral services and visitation will be held at Fellowship Bible Church in Fayetteville on Thursday, May 25th. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a private family burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
