The man who helped shape film criticism as we know it, Gene Siskel (Pictured left), died yesterday (Saturday, February 20) at the age of 53 in Chicago, Illinois. Siskel died of complications resulting from his May, 1998, brain surgery. Along with longtime partner Roger Ebert (Pictured right), Siskel is best known for the syndicated show "Siskel & Ebert." Officials with G&K Home Solutions LLC continued to buy properties in hopes of attracting new investors until its collapse in the spring of 2012, including this house at 104 W. 52nd St. in North Little Rock that is currently in foreclosure by Arvest Bank, according to Pulaski County Circuit Court records.

G&K Home Solutions LLC bought this house at 28 Hatfield Drive in Little Rock, as well as dozens more distressed properties in neighborhoods like Wakefield, Cloverdale, Allendale and West Baseline in the southwest part of the city. Although the company transferred ownership of some houses to investors, it kept some for itself. Environmental Court records show that Little Rock code enforcement officers cited G&K for health and safety violations at several homes in those neighborhoods.

According to records in the Lonoke County assessor’s office, the house at 335 Eagleview Road in Austin is owned by G&K Home Solutions LLC co-founder Grant Exton. The assessor valued the home and land at $457,550 last year.
