Tia Stone of Searcy was one of 26 Arkansans who ran in the recent Boston Marathon, which was marred by tragedy as two bomb explosions killed three and injured 250 more. Stone finished the race not long before the explosions in her first time to participate in the Boston Marathon.

Relay for Life events often attract large crowds in the effort to raise funds for cancer research. Relays in the Tri-Lakes Edition coverage area, which begin Friday, are no exception. In 2012, Relay for Life raised $1.4 million in Arkansas for cancer research.
