The block of buildings is gone today. Electric traction streetcars, like those in this photo, came to the Capitol City in December 1891 but were replaced by buses in 1947. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/BENJAMIN KRAIN --04/25/2013-- Edward Thomas, with Phillips Brothers Towing Service, determines how to remove a vehicle from a drainage ditch at 17th and Brown Streets in Little Rock. The driver of the car says a man approached the car asking for a ride, then hit him in the head and ran away with the keys causing the car to roll backwards into the ditch. The driver and 2 passengers were all transported to a hospital after the incident.
