Juanita's Cantina

Description

Management evidently figures that we don't need no stinkin' knives (or spoons) to tackle the Tex-Mex fare at this convivial (i.e., noisy) Little Rock eatery and entertainment fixture, in business at the same Main Street location for 22 years.
The no-knife policy works for most of Juanita's generally flavorful dishes. The crisp corn chips serve as scoops for the commendable cheese dips and guacamole, while the array of enchiladas and most other main-course staples can be cut handily with a fork.
But not so the grilled flank steak that arrived as the centerpiece of the Juanita's Famous Fajitas ordered by wife Marcia and me on a recent evening. The steak was served intact rather than thinly sliced as is normal with fajitas - a good idea, Marcia pointed out, because it kept the beef pleasantly pink in the middle.
