Thank u very much for speaking out about this tasteless competition. I totally agree that it disparages women as merely objects. This has been a yearly competition for too long. Society is changing- we should all exude more respect and class.
Having listened to the Buzz for many years, I gradually moved to other morning shows that I found more appealing and better informed. I did still listen during football season to their call in guests ( Mark May, Houston Nutt, Herm Edwards), and they have always been a terrific supporter of area organizations (Youth Home, etc.) Perhaps, a compromise...the local version of the babe bracket could be retired but the station can continue with the celebrity version. As it stands, I don't believe that KARK has participated for a few years so this would allow the other stations to gracefully withdraw from this dated "competition".
The best way to vote on this is not to listen. If their ratings go down it will stop, but I suspect the ratings won't and neither will the bracket. So hit the button on your radio to another station and it won't bother you a bit.
Although The Show With No Name supports numerous worthy projects within the community, the "Babe Bracket" denigrates women and has done so for many years. I commend the decision to remove the "Babe Bracket" from 103.7 The Buzz. This show is well-known for pushing the edge of the envelope in its use of sexual innuendo.
Rediculois...its all in fun and doest harm anybody...if a lady doesn't want her name to be entered then they don't put her in the bracket...get over yourselves
