Arkansas deputy prosecuting attorney charged with DWI placed on leave

Will he be going to prison for his fourth - which he will get soon. He's probably already been stopped far more than 3 times - but being a "very talented lawyer" in a prosecutor's position - be got a pass. Time for his boss and the PD to do the right thing....

3 people dead after hours-long standoff at east Arkansas home

He'd have been shot when he charged the police with his knife or bat or whatever weapon he had handy. Happens all the time - but the evil gun makes a better story. Unfortunately, the story just says it was a rifle -- not an assault weapon.
.
Over the next day or so we are very likely to find out that there were clues out there but nobody said anything. The usual pattern for crazed, unstable folks who do these things with guns, knives, bats, bombs, cars, etc. But don't let any of that detract from the anti-gun opportunity.

AuntPetunia --- correct !

Yep, another evil self-shooting gun. Raymond Lewis Williams Jr. certainly can't be held responsible for HIS actions.

Opioid-case judge finds firm at fault; Johnson & Johnson told to pay $572M

One thing is certain - the individuals using/abusing X cannot be held accountable (X = drug/gun/alcohol/tobacco/vehicle/etc) In our new age of irresponsibility, personal responsibility is not expected or required.

Trump absent from G-7 climate session

Climate change is not a linear thing. It may even be that as we get farther in time from the last ice age - and remaining ice melts away - that the warming will accelerate. Maybe there will be humans around to record it - maybe not. After all, we haven't been here for most of earth's climate fluctuations.

Trump absent from G-7 climate session

Back in the 60s we were worried about the nuclear winter - in the 70s there was talk of global cooling. But it is warming. Ever since the ice age about 6000 years ago it has been warming. Perhaps RBear can tell us exactly what percentage of that warming is due to recent human activity and how much is due to - well - climate change as it has gone on forever.

I don't think we can count on that cesspool that is the UN with a history of manipulated temp figures to make reports fit the agenda instead of the science. Once that start happening the politics and agenda overtake science. Much like the algorithms used by Google and Facebook to judge content - the models used by the now politically driven 'science' is designed by humans and can easily be set to skew results. Real science, please.
