JOHN BRUMMETT: The South rose again

Come on, JB! You know very well that lynching was necessary because liberal judges would not meet out justice to those Negroes who did unspeakable things, or thought about doing them, or acting like they were thinking about them, to little white girls and their mamas. Of course that star honors the KKK, as well it should! Hooray for ARKANSAS and white people! Love it or leave it!

Bills aim to allow Arkansas pharmacists to dispense birth-control pills, administer some vaccines

The fact that any public servant opposes this is so wrong in so many ways: willful ignorance, male arrogance, denial of women's capacity to function as human beings, denial of women's rights, hypocrisy, dishonesty, stupidity, right-wing craziness, religious coercion and denial of reality
among many, many more...

Governor discourages out-of-state pot buys; certification cards to be issued next month, Health Department says

Big AH means he wants to get a cut of any pot buys to help cut taxes on his favorite tax payers, er... avoiders.

And they're off!

Regarding my earlier comment: Do you really want to be part of the GOP/Russia machine that caricatures Democratic candidates in a way designed to inflame the prejudices of conservatives? Can you not muster a bit of journalistic integrity and represent candidates based on their positions on substantive issues that have a real impact on Arkansans?

And they're off!

Your oh-so-clever ID of Elizabeth Warren (D-Planned Parenthood) starkly reveals the hypocrisy of your occasional exhortations for a more civil public discourse. You Guys are right in there with our PGing president. That's not Parental Guidance. You should ID all current Republican Arkansas office-holders as NRA. It would be accurate and probably increase your circulation.

ARKANSAS SPORTSMAN: Bump stocks do nothing good for AR-15 rifles

Its intolerable that the feds trample on the Two-Amendment rights of freedom-loving, and -defending, Americans by outlawing ownership of mortars, tanks and helicopter gunships. Come On! Stand up for Freedom to Shoot! Godless Arabs can buy 'em by the boatload, but God-fearing Americans can't?! Get with the Program, Brother.

ARKANSAS SPORTSMAN: Bump stocks do nothing good for AR-15 rifles

Brother Hendricks best beware straying so far off the reservation. The shooter evangelist he cited as defending bump stocks was correct. Gun nuts are imperiled by anything that limits their ability to fire a projectile or projectiles in any way at anything. Lock and Load, Brother. Get with the program.

And there was a great calm

Martin's eloquence glowed last Sunday and this Sunday. Today's column showcased his knowledge and understanding of history and it's relevance to now. In my uncharitable opinion, it might have been inevitable, regardless of the armistice terms, that a Hitler would rise to lead nationalistic, self-righteous, bigoted and willfully ignorant Germanic reactionaries. I believe the same is happening with Trump and his cohorts with our MAGA masses.

BRUMMETT ONLINE: There, there, little ladies

The Times article linked above makes it clear this judge was a pig. His current behavior suggests he still is a pig. I cannot imagine anyone voting to elevate him to the Supreme Court. He can do enough damage where he is

Violent Reality

Great job on this batch of stories. We need an old fashioned crusade to get people in LR and statewide to ante up tax money to respond like actual humans to the ongoing disasters in high-crime neighborhoods. But, alas, our still institutionally embedded racism discourages such. The base would go nuts.
