JOHN DEERING CARTOON: You almost stepped in some 'Trump trade negotiations'

"... are now going to take a 180 swing and vote for a Democrat socialist?"
*
GMac, Trump is a Republican socialist. When Trump started his trade war with China which hurt soybean prices and US soybean farmers, Trump responded by bailing himself out by bailing those farmers out with $tens of billions of taxpayers' money. Is that not Trumpist socialism? Here's another thing which is hurting Trump--those tax-paid subsidies are not paid equitably. Huge amounts of that tax-paid bailout money tends to go to the biggest, wealthiest farmers.
*
Republican Senator Chuck Grassley in Iowa has emphatically made that point. Those bailout subsidies are capped at $125,000 per farm but that has become a joke. From a CBS news report: "Grassley said in a statement to AP that some of the nation's largest farms are receiving huge subsidies "through underhanded legal tricks. They're getting richer off the backs of taxpayers while young and beginning farmers are being priced out of the profession." That's a typical Trump solution. Trump's tax cuts (which caused budget deficits to skyrocket) heavily favored super-wealthy Americans and on top of that Trump adds huge subsidies flowing mostly to the richest farms.
*
When people like Grassley start complaining loudly about it you can bet he's getting an earful from his Iowa farmer constituents. As this cartoon illustrates, rural folks are recognizing Trump for what he is--a New York elitist who brags that he's skilled in deal-making and trade negotiations, but he's not, and Trump's own serial business bankruptcies show that Trump is not the deal-maker he claims to be.

Yes, Mo, we know. Whatever gets attention in the news, Donald tweets and makes it all about himself.
That's the realDonald, all right, tweeting again about realDonald. Trump is realDonald's biggest fan.

Trump absent from G-7 climate session

No, Pack, you're wrong on all counts. As documented by scientists whose works is published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. the polar ice caps have partially melted and so has the tundra permafrost. The ozone layer has been partially depleted and is being restored thanks to scientists who identified ozone-depleted substances. Acid rain has happened and the acidity in the rain has been measured by scientists. Science works. Why do you hate science so much? Ducks in the southern hemisphere are smart enough to fly north for the cold months down there no matter which way you think they should go. And Jane Fonda long ago apologized for her youthful serious mistake and doesn't hate America.

In today's news, a new Quinnipiac poll:
Biden--up arrow
Sanders--up
Warren--up also
Harris--up too
Buttigieg--yup, up
Trump's arrow? Nope. It points the other way.
