arky12 (JUDY ZITKO) says...

It is heartening to see that a lot of people are seeing through the smoke and mirrors the Republicans are creating. They mention they don't want to raise taxes, but it's rarely stated who would pay these higher taxes. The millionaires and billionaires would start paying their fair share. I also haven't seen much news on mainstream news stations, which are all owned by 5 major corporations, about the fact that it was said yesterday that SS payments may be delayed if they don't reach an agreement. Why is it that the Republicans don't want to increase taxes on their rich buddies but are willing to cut entitlement programs that aid the old and poor of this country? The problem is military spending and Bush tax cuts, which need to be rolled back to bring in more revenue. The Republicans have declared war on the American people and it's been going on for a long time. Go back to 1979 when they played the same game with Jimmy Carter to get him out of office so they could get a Republican back in. As for the 2nd most powerful Republican, Mitch McConnel, why would anyone say he is doing a good job when he publicly stated that his single most important political goal is to make Obama a one term president? He went on to say it's the goal of every Republican in this country. No wonder Obama can't get them to agree on anything, they want him gone.
