Arkansas woman urinates on officer during traffic stop, police say

She was probably refusing to spread her legs for the search because she had to pee (and knew she couldn't hold it if she spread her legs) - she should have told the officers that. Gross for the officer but charging her with assault over it?

U.S. Supreme Court keeps stay in place, preventing Arkansas execution

This delay is because the inmates' attorneys say they were denied access to independent mental health experts. They've argued that Ward has a lifelong history of severe mental illness and that Davis has an IQ in the range of intellectual disability. These issues should have been brought to the courts YEARS ago! Personally, I think there should be a statute of limitations to file any objections to the sentence they've been given unless there is specific NEW evidence, for example DNA, which would bring their guilt or sentence into doubt. These inmates gave no thought to their victims' fear or pain, they are now giving no thought to the pain of loved ones of the victims. If there is going to be a death penalty, forget drugs - execute by firing squad - shoot the inmate between the eyes, back of the head, where ever it would be instant death - which is far more consideration than most these death row inmates gave to their victims.

Immigration case pending, teen in Little Rock detained; new Trump policy sowing confusion over arrest

What year did Tatiana Jaco come into the country? When did she plan to file for Asylum? How old was she when she came in? How old is she now (over 18 is all that was reported)? The complete lack of context in using her as an example is either very bad reporting or revealing these facts make her a less sympathetic example. EDITORS do a better job of reporting.

Arkansan arrested in estranged wife's shooting death after days-long search

Not sure if News Editors read these comments but wouldn't it make sense to publish a picture of wanted fugitives? This man was on the run for several days after shooting his wife - surely there was a picture they could have published on the front page so citizens could be on the look out for him? Many times we are told of fugitives, often considered armed and dangerous, but the paper never publishes a picture!

Defiance, not fear, as Berlin Christmas market reopens

I have many friends living in Berlin. I have visited the Church, walked the boulevard, shopped on this very terrace. As we say, "but for the grace of God"...... I am very happy to see this attack did not destroy the spirit of the German people as the Terrorists had hoped. Merry Christmas to my friends and family in Germany!

Arkansas lawmaker files bill requiring document, ID card to vote

It's not ID at the polling place we need, it's more stringent Voter Registration process that's needed. DMV "motor voter" registration is too easy - no proof of citizenship is required. DMV told me they just send the information to Secretary of States Office - but does anyone in that Office actually follow up to ensure people who registered to vote are legally eligble to vote? Do they even do a sampling? Illegal voter registration is the real issue that no one wants to talk about.

Arkansas representative arrested in Little Rock

the fact Walker only wants to file complaint against the white officers illutrates what a RACIST attitude this "representative" has. Dr. King wanted a society without color, this man only continues to encourage a racial divide. This is who we want representing our communities?

Kaepernick, 49ers teammate kneel during national anthem

Kaepernick has the right to "free speech" just as much as any other American. However, he also needs to be ready to accept the consequences of his actions - whether that means cheers or jeers or loss of a sponsorship (if he has any?). Personally, I think all these sports figures are given far too much money and attention - ask him to give $18 million of his $19 million/year salary to a group of teachers who actually make a difference in the lives of children.

Sweatpants ban fails in Arkansas Legislature

No wonder people are so cynical about our government - with all the problems facing our state, they are wasting time and money because they are worried about dressing "appropriately" ?!? How did this even make it on the the floor for a vote? I hope voters take note of whoever submitted and moved this bill forward - when up for re-election they need to be removed.

Powerball craze stoked lottery's best month ever

The Lottery as a fund raiser for Scholarships is a farce Highest sales ever and still only 23% of that money will go to scholarships. Who would support a charity that only spends 23% of the money raised on "the cause" it proclaims to support? Put a team of investigative reporters on this issue - WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING? WHO"S REALLY BENEFITING FROM THE ARKANSAS LOTTERY? It is obvious it is not the college students.
