Cowboy Mouth

There was a time when Cowboy Mouth was a regular at least once a year club mainstay in central Arkansas, but the band now rations out its appearances here, up "north" of New Orleans. The band will perform Saturday night at the Revolution Room, 300 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. The show will start at 9 p.m. with opening act Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes. Admission is $12. Call (501) 823-0090. Led by drummer and lead singer Fred LeBlanc, Cowboy Mouth has performed an average 200 shows a year the past 15 years, while releasing 11 albums, all the while extolling the joys of being alive and of being in and from New Orleans. LeBlanc's bandmates are long-time lead guitarist and singer John Thomas Griffith, plus newer members Jonathan Pretus on rhythm guitar and Regina Zernay on bass. Cowboy Mouth released a live DVD, The Name of the Band Is Cowboy Mouth, on Nov. 20. Reckless Kelly will perform at 10 p.m. today at the Revolution Room. Tickets are $10.
