The Legend of Robin Hood: Or: A Tale of Tight Tights

Confusion, comedy, and romance occur when The Imperial Dinner Theatre presents The Legend of Robin Hood: Or: A Tale of Tight Tights. It is safe to say that the confusion will be mostly on the part of the audience. Gratuitously sponsored by Subway of Pocahontas, this frantically funny melodrama will be a theatrical experience you won't soon forget. The show opens October 3rd and runs weekends thru November 22. All the joy, love, adventure and danger associated with the outlaw Robin Hood (played by Imperial "funny man" Kelly Grooms) are lambasted in this melodrama where the audience cheers for the hero and boos the villain! Our swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero falls for the lovely, high maintenance Maid Marian (Leah Evers) who just so happens to be engaged to the scheming Sherriff of Nottingham (Rick Rollings). Little John (Kevin Lowe), Will Scarlet (Brian Milligan) and Friar Tuck (Ken Benton) warn Robin that "falling in love with the girlfriend of the guy who wants to see you dead is a little tricky". But our gallant guy-in-green won't be dissuaded. He sneaks in to see Marian disguised as one of Marian's ladies in waiting only to have the evil Prince John (Henry Gross) fall madly in lust for him! Marian's other ladies in waiting (Dorothy Rapert, Lisa Girard and Lindsey Jarrett), are so ugly they can't even attract the Sherriff's bumbling deputies (John Harvey, Walter Grooms, Alan Swink and Zack Rainwater) whose collective IQs equal six:no four:no six. The legendary legend, with his other Merry Men (Brendan Grooms, D.J. Smith), in their never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounter a rhyming enchantress, Witch Waye (Andee Evers) who takes one for the team and ends up calling 911. In the end, you've got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest and you'll wonder where your ticket money went. Bring your cameras for the photo shoot with Tonya Harding (Brittany Grooms). Lights and sound are by Lady Carilyn of Rouyer ,with props by Sir John of Harvey. Duke Brendan of Grooms lends his skill as a scenic artist to help your imagination move from Sherwood Forest to Nottingham Castle.
