Many of the band's original compositions incorporate elements of Eastern European folk music, Spanish Flamenco, and Arabic song. The ensembles released their self-titled debut album, "Kahula", in 2006, and have since been featured in a wide variety of shows and television broadcasts. The Kahula Gypsy Band consists of four musicians: RAJA, the band's guitarist, became fascinated with Spanish guitar at an early age while living in his native country of Lebanon. After moving to the United States, he quickly established himself as a prominent musician in Northwest Arkansas, performing in numerous venues in the region, and winning the Ozark Music Award for "Best Acoustical Instrument Performer" . He has released several albums of works for solo guitar which have met with enthusiastic support. RYAN COCKERHAM, Kahula Gypsy Band's violinist, has received acclaim and recognition around the nation as a dazzling, young musician. He has performed with a wide variety of ensembles and has been featured as a soloist with multiple orchestras around the country. His original compositions have been performed and broadcast often in Northwest Arkansas, and his talent has been requested on multiple albums by rising musical talents around the world. GREG SALERNO supplies an essential element to the band with his percussive virtuosity. Having performed the world over as a jazz and classical guitarist, Greg continues to evolve as a stunning musician with his impressive skill on two very different musical instruments. KIRK LANIER brings years of experience as a professional bass player to the Kahula Gypsy Band. Having toured extensively throughout the United States, Kirk is no stranger to the concert stage, and expands the exotic, energetic sound palette of the Kahula Gypsy Band with his masterful musicianship.
