Events at The Museum of Discovery

EDUCATIONAL EVENTS At least once a month, the Museum of Discovery offers a special educational event, during which Museum educators and special guests conduct demonstrations, hands-on activities, performances, and other presentations. No additional fees are required to enjoy these events; they are in included in Museum admission. Group rates are available for school, scout, church, and corporate groups. Dairy farmers and representatives from Midwest Dairy Council will provide a fun and educational look at farming and nutrition, including dairy trivia. Sponsored by Midwest Dairy Council Have you milked a cow recently? You'll have a chance to do it at the Museum of Discovery October 8-10. Midwest Dairy sponsors DAIRY MAKES SENSE, a special event that features hands-on activities that help teach kids about healthy food choices. In addition to meeting a real dairy farmer, you can milk Sophie the "cow" and learn how to make butter. You can have your picture taken as a piece of cheese and lots more fun! Uncorked: A Wine Discovery Oct. 22 Bewitching Chemistry October 22-24, 2009 Experience "spooktacular" Halloween science as you learn the secrets behind the "Pukin' Pumpkin" and other ghostly mysteries. Uncorked: Gourmet Wine Dinner Oct. 25 Booseum Bash Oct. 30 SATURDAY DISCOVERIES Especially designed for grades K-6, these hands-on science workshops are offered the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Space is limited to a small group for this rich experience. $20/person.
