OLT OFFERS SUMMER ACTING WORKSHOP FOR KIDS
WHAT: the Ouachita Little Theatre is offering a summer workshop for kids 10 to 17, The Shakespearence, provided by a professional acting organization, TheaterSquared Academy, of Fayetteville, Arkansas

COST INFO: $150.00 per student
BACKGROUND: TheaterSquared Academy, of Fayetteville, AR, a professional children’s company, will work with the Ouachita Little Theatre (OLT), to provide the opportunity for children ages 10 through 17 to attend a two-week, all-day acting workshop at the OLT’s theater. The proposed dates for the workshop are July 28 through August 6, from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM.
Some of the specific classes the children will attend include set design and construction, improvisation and movement, scene study, stage “combat,” and actual rehearsal sessions for the Shakespearean vignettes that will be performed. The students will be trained in two separate groups, one group containing those ages 10 through 13 and the other, 14 to 17.
The $150 per student fee for the entire workshop is due two weeks in advance of the beginning of the program. In order for the OLT to be able to offer this children’s summer acting Academy it will be necessary for at least 27 students to sign up. If there is not enough interest the Academy will not be offered.
