Horticulture Brown Bag Lecture Series Planned Looking for something fun to do during your lunch hour? How about spending your lunch hour with us and learn about gardening and horticulture? A Brown Bag Lecture Series consisting of four educational sessions on horticulture will be conducted this summer. So grab your lunch and a friend and come in out of the heat. You will enjoy learning about horticulture and meeting new friends. The Brown Bag Lecture Series will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays - July 28, and August 4, 11, and 18 in Beebe at the ASU-Beebe Farm classroom. Each day the program will begin at 12:05 p.m. and will adjourn by 12:50 p.m. to insure everyone gets back to work by 1:00 p.m. Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. July 28 – Jerry Sites, ASU – Beebe Agriculture Professor, will be the featured speaker on the first day of the event. He will be conducting a hands-on program titled “Constructing a Terrarium”. August 4 – Kaye Winningham, White County Master Gardener, will be conducting a program called “Happy Hydrangeas”. August 11– Dr. Tamara Walkingstick, Extension Forester, will be the featured speaker on the third day of the event with a program called “Beyond Beauty: Native Trees and Edible Plants of Arkansas”. August 18 - Sherri Sanders, County Extension Agent – Agriculture, will conduct a presentation on “An Overview of Container Gardening”. Directions to the ASU-Beebe Farm: from Hwy. 67/167, take Exit 28 for Beebe/Conway, (from Searcy go over the overpass), go straight through the stoplight. You will be on Center Street; look for the armory on the right, the road to the farm is just past the armory. Follow the sign to the ASU-Farm.
