Robert Zimmer, president of the University of Chicago Contributing to a Complex World University of Chicago President Robert Zimmer will give a Clinton School lecture titled, "Contributing to a Complex World," about the nuance required to understand, analyze and tackle the challenges faced throughout society and the important role that universities play in solving these issues. He will explore the lessons of the university experience, and the manner in which scholarship and research can positively affect the public experience. Named president in 2006, Zimmer is the former provost of Brown University and previously served for more than two decades as a University of Chicago administrator and faculty member specializing in the mathematical field of geometry.
