Events at The Museum of Discovery

EDUCATIONAL EVENTS At least once a month, the Museum of Discovery offers a special educational event, during which Museum educators and special guests conduct demonstrations, hands-on activities, performances, and other presentations. No additional fees are required to enjoy these events; they are in included in Museum admission. Group rates are available for school, scout, church, and corporate groups. Supported by a grant from the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame. Constructive Destruction February 17-20, 2010 Build it, or tear it down to see how it works. Be an engineer for a day as we explore how things are made in conjunction with National Engineering Week. SATURDAY DISCOVERIES Especially designed for grades K-6, these hands-on science workshops are offered the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Space is limited to a small group for this rich experience. $20/person. Founded in 1927, the Museum of Discovery is the oldest museum in Little Rock. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock, attracting visitors of all ages. With over 25,000 square feet of hands-on, interactive exhibits, the Museum is a family destination "where you have worlds to discover." The mission of the Museum is to ignite a passion for science, technology and math in a dynamic, interactive environment. In addition to permanent and traveling exhibits, the Museum offers special events, school programs, outreach programs, birthday parties and facility rentals. In 2008, the Museum served over 95,000 people, including school groups from around the state. The Museum raises support through special events, individual and corporate donations, planned giving, bequests and special campaigns. Donations to the Museum are tax-deductible.
