Positive People Promotions, Inc, a non profit organization that mentors and tutors as-risk youth, will host its 10th Annual Teen Summit/ The Sisters Meet Conference March 4th – 6th at the Holiday Inn Presidential, 6th Street and I-30, Little Rock. “Sometimes we are so busy doing what is “programmed” for us to do we fail to do those caring, helpful things that will cause others to prosper and thrive.” said Fran Kelley, founder and CEO of PPP. Since its inception, the conference has significantly impacted its participants and the organization has mentored more than 400 at-risk youth and given more than $7500 through the Mary Florine Swanigan Scholarship. Thursday and Friday night”s activities begin with 7:00pm services featuring encouraging songs of praise and words of inspiration. Thursday from Rev. Eric Alexander, Pastor of the St. Luke Baptist Church, and on Friday ,Rev. Carolyn Ramsey of San Antonio, TX along with other guests. The conference theme “Breaking Generational Curses” will be the springboard for panels, breakout sessions on Saturday morning, and brunch to close out the event. All of our students will receive participation certificates and be encouraged to continue to set and achieve high goals in whatever tasks they undertake. For the ladies, the panel discussion begins at Saturday at 9:00 am followed by music from Brian Cole of Little Rock, Detric Jones & Chosen Praise of Pine Bluff, and special musical guest Carolyn Traylor, Malaco Recording Artist from Greenville,TX. Evangelist Fran Kelley, PPP’s founder and author of “Free to be Me” will be the featured speaker for the Saturday noon day session. The conference registration is free of charge and open to youth 11-17 and adults of all ages. Tickets for the Saturday brunch are $25.00 and available from any PPP volunteer or by calling 501-920-5003. A portion of the proceeds from the brunch help fund the Positive People Promotions Mary Swanigan Scholarship fund, given annually to one of the youth who participate in the PPP program and activities.
