Arkansas Post Spring Bayou Float

Make Your Reservations for the Arkansas Post Spring Bayou Float See Arkansas the way explorers like Marquette and Joliet did, from the bow of a canoe. Arkansas Post National Memorial will offer a guided float from Moore’s Bayou to Post Bayou on Saturday, March 27. The float will be from 9 AM to 11 AM. Visitors are encouraged to bring their canoes or kayaks as well as life jackets. The park only has a couple of seats for those who do not have a boat. Reservations can be made by calling the visitor center at 870-548-2207. The event is free, but registration is required by 5 pm on Friday, March 26. Visitors are asked to wear seasonally appropriate clothing and prepare for the possibility of getting wet. The event will be cancelled in the event of bad weather. Please contact Ranger Joe Herron for more details. Arkansas Post National Memorial is located on Arkansas Highway 169, approximately seven miles south of Gillett. It can be reached via US 165 and is about 20 miles south of DeWitt and 20 miles north of Dumas.
