Baxter County has a new, public library. The community will celebrate the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Library with a Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, October 9, 11:30 am at 300 Library Hill. Doors open at 11:00am. Library Hill is situated at the corner of Hwy. 201 South and the Sheid-Hopper Bypass in Mountain Home, AR. The public is invited. The Ceremony’s keynote speaker will be Arkansas Governor, Mike Beebe. Other speakers at the Ceremony include Lynn Mosier, Executive VP and CFO of the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, Gwen Khayat, Library Director, and Deborah Knox, Library Board Chair and Capital Campaign Chair. The ceremony will be preceded by the presentation and raising of the United States Flag by the Knights of Columbus Color Corps at 10:50am. The public is also invited to attend a post-ceremony Artists’ Show and Workshops from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm that afternoon. Artists whose work is on display in the Library will be on hand to visit with the public and share about their work.
