22nd Annual Mule Jump

Pea Ridge Mayor Announces 22nd Annual Mule Jump City of Pea Ridge Mayor, Jackie Crabtree, today announced the annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Pea Ridge High School. Opening ceremonies start the day’s activities at the High School at 9:00 am. Following Opening Ceremonies, a full day of events including the halter class (mule beauty pageant), a stick mule event (for children), barrel & flag races, pole bending, hog calling and the Mule Jumping competition will begin. The Jump draws contestants from a four-state area. “Some events are destined to become a ‘don’t miss community opportunity’. We are honored to say that The 22nd Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump scheduled for Saturday, October 9th, 2010 has become just that for many,” states Mule Jump Committee Chair, Nathan See. “The Mule Jump brings in 3-4 thousand people - we are known for being the Mule Jump Capital of the World!” Antique tractors, cars and trucks will be on display. Food and beverages, t-shirts, hats, mementoes, and other options will be available for purchase. Vendor booth spaces are still available. Sponsorships for the various events are also available to help offset the cost of trophies and cash prizes. Sponsors will be recognized in all publicity for the event. Media sponsors to-date include NWAMedia, KIX104, The Big Nickel, Bright Design Graphics, Northwest Specialties Printing, and The Star Shopper. “Through supporters’ generosity we can create more awareness of this gem of the Ozarks, and give our NWA neighbors continuing, unique local entertainment,” states Pea Ridge Mayor, Jackie Crabtree. Proceeds from the event will benefit the City of Pea Ridge and the Northwest Arkansas Community for years to come through new equipment for the Parks Department. The event is open to the public and tickets for the event are $5 for adults, $3 ages 6 – 12, and children 5 and under are free. The competition fee is $5 per trailer with registration, including handlers. Competitors may register at the gate on the day of the event. State and local elected representatives, along with other dignitaries have been invited to attend.
