Altheimer Charitable Foundation, Inc., the annual Judaism and Civil Rights Lecture is intended to highlight the role of Jews and/or Judaism in the pursuit of civil rights. Her Excellency Houda Nonoo has served since 2008 as the Ambassador from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States. She is the first Jewish woman to be appointed by an Arab country as ambassador to the United States and only the third Bahraini woman to be appointed ambassador to any nation.
