Hendrix Players Present “Violet”

Hendrix Players Present “Violet” Musical production to run Feb. 23-26 CONWAY, Ark. (February 14, 2011) — The Hendrix Players will present Violet in productions Wednesday, Feb. 23-Saturday, Feb. 26. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. each day and an additional matinee will be offered on Saturday at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Cabe Theatre on the Hendrix College campus. Violet is a musical based on the short story “The Ugliest Pilgrim” by Doris Betts. It tells the story of a young disfigured woman who embarks on a journey by bus from her farm in Spruce Pine, N.C., to Tulsa, Okla., in order to be healed. Violet is sponsored by the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance and presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Ann Muse, associate professor of theatre arts, will direct the production.
