The 10x10 Art Series was created to bring new faces to the arts center in a time when fine arts audiences around the country are declining. The Series explores how arts and culture can connect friends and family in a more meaningful way. The concept of 10x 10 is to present high quality art for just $10 per ticket, making it accessible and fun. And it worked! “We saw full and almost full houses for dance, classical music and jazz,” said Jodi Beznoska, VP of Communications. “And best of all, those audiences were excited, engaged and enthusiastic about what they saw.” After each performance, audience members were encouraged to fill out and post comments on the 10 x 10 feedback wall. The response was inspiring: “Incredible! Never thought a modern interpretation of classic opera could make me cry and have goose bumps… Keep up with the 10x10 series!” “Thanks for the 10x10 series! Wouldn’t be able to come otherwise.” “Outstanding artists. Great selections made for a wonderful Sunday afternoon, ENCORE!!” About the 2011-12 10 x 10 performances: Emerson String Quartet Oct. 9 With more than 30 acclaimed recordings, nine Grammy® Awards, three Gramophone Awards and the coveted Avery Fisher Prize, The Emerson String Quartet stands alone in the history of string quartets.
